  • You may enter 2 doubles events.
  • Entry fee is $30 per racquet for the first event. $10 per racquet for the second event.
  • Play begins:
    Men's play begins Tuesday, 2008.11.18
    Ladies' play begins Wednesday, 2008.11.19
    Mixed play beginsWednesday, 2008.11.19
    with all finals on Sunday, 2008.11.23
  • Draw available Monday, 2008.11.17 18:00 — 604–985–8636, or on the Evergreen web site (start times only).

Volunteers Needed

It takes a lot of help to run a tournament. Please volunteer your time. Use the entry form, or contact either Adam Radziminski or Scott Sibley.

Payment Options

Enter on-line, then drop off, or mail, a cheque, or money order, for the total amount, payable to Evergreen Squash Club, at the club.
OR
Complete a hardcopy entry form, and either attach a cheque, or include your credit card information, and submit to the club (drop off or mail).
N.B. entry must be received at the club by the deadline above.

2008 Western Canadian Doubles

Summary

Once again, another successful Western Canadian Doubles tournament was hosted by Evergreen (November 18–23, 2008). Over 100 players participated in a number of events, with some great matches being played all weekend.

Nicola Martin and Steve Lawton won the big cash prize in the Mixed Doubles event.

We were thrilled as always to host out of town players from across Canada — even a guest appearance on the court, and at the bar–b–que, by Tim Thistle, now of Halifax N.S.

This tournament would not have been a success without the help of our many sponsors:

  • Rob Dubois, who handled the bar duties.
  • Jane Sibley, who managed the food for the week and wine and cheese party.
  • Don Smerch, who provided, and managed the Freybe cook-up.
  • Tim Martin, who assisted with the draw, and has agreed to take over from Scott and Adam as next year's tournament chair.
