Evergreen Doubles Ladder is Back

The Doubles Ladder is now on-line, hosted on the Quick-Draws site. Like the singles ladder on the Gigasport site, players must log-in to record matches. No log-in is required to view the current state of the ladder.

All intra-club doubles matches are valid ladder matches — assuming all the players involved are on the ladder. And, to sweeten the pie, all ladder matches count toward the BC Doubles Rankings — assuming at least one player in each pair is a current Squash BC member, and already has a BC Doubles Ranking.

Lynn Broman and Rick Kochanski have put together a couple of web pages that pretty much tell you everything you need to know.

So check it out, if not already on the ladder, join, and start making your mark in the club doubles rankings!

Re: Annual General Meeting, Squash BC Web Site, Club Dues

Dear Squash Club Representative;

Enclosed are several pages referring to the Squash B.C.'s Annual General Meeting. Squash BC meetings are never behind closed doors. We encourage attendance and participation, however it is often inconvenient for people to spend the time to participate as a volunteer and attend meetings. To assist you, our member clubs, there is a zone representative whose job is to represent you, your members and your club at meetings when it is not convenient for the club representative to attend. If you have any concerns or topics that you would like brought up at this or any other Squash BC meetings, please feel free to contact them. See the attached list for names and contact information. As an alternative, please feel free to call the Squash BC office directly at (604) 737-3084 and talk to myself, Kevin Kydd, Executive Director.

In conjunction with the Annual General Meeting, we hold a Planning Session. This is held throughout the day on Saturday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, May 29, 2010, prior to the AGM. If a club representative is planning on attending the AGM, it may be helpful for them to be in attendance during the Planning Session as well. If this is the case, we must know in advance who will be attending to make sure of adequate catering and room facilities. Please register by May 20, 2009.

Only club members in good standing may vote at the AGM, one vote per club.

One of the services Squash BC offers is information on your club to people who visit our web site. I receive many phone calls throughout the year asking where to play squash. They very often have been to the web site but would like more information on a club in their region. Please go to the “Member Clubs” on the left side of our web page then check out your listing and information. If you have a web site for your club and it’s not linked, (your name will be in blue if it is linked,) we would very much like to have your web site address.

Thank you for being part of the squash community and helping one of the best games on earth grow and prosper.

Yours truly,

Kevin Kydd
