Evergreen Squash Club — Fun Fast Fit

Extend your squash life!

An Evergreen Squash Club membership is one terrific value.

Been playing singles for a few years, and starting to feel a little slower, or not quite as youthful. Perhaps, not quite as fit as one once was. Then, I believe, doubles squash is what you are looking for.

Still fit enough to get on court, have good racquet skills, and able to anticipate your opponent's next shot, then you have what it takes to become a good doubles player. If you have always depended on your speed to compensate for your less than stellar skills, you should likely avoid the doubles court.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how much enjoyment you will get out of the game. Don't have a doubles court at your club? Join Evergreen, either as a full member (so you can keep playing singles), or as a "doubles only" member, and keep the membership at your current club.

Have questions or just want to get the ball rolling, use our on-line form.

2010 Viktor Berg Doubles Clinics

How would you like a lesson with Tiger Woods? How about Roger Federer? We can't arrange that, but Lynn Broman can arrange a "lesson" with the #1 doubles player. Viktor Berg has some dates open for doubles clinics.

Viktor is available for a few Tuesdays in February. The dates are:

Tuesday February 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd.

We have not settled on the hours; but, likely nothing earlier than 5pm, and nothing later than the 8pm booking.

For the price, this is probably the best entertainment deal in town. Being on court with Viktor is always energizing, and exciting. Past experience shows that all 3 students somehow play harder, faster, and better. Learning something about playing doubles is just a bonus.

Time to organize this is short, so your early response is appreciated (and essential).

Send Lynn Broman your preferred wall, choice of dates, and how many sessions you would like to take. Please, send all dates and hours you are available or interested in. That will help Lynn find suitable dates for all the interested people. (As Viktor lives in Richmond, he requires 2 sessions, minimum and maximum, on any date.)

Each group needs at least one right and one left wall. Lynn will make every effort possible to have players of similar skill in each group.

You are encouraged to put your own threesome together. Please provide Lynn with the requisite information. But, only do so, if the threesome is confirmed (by you), and the dates/times provided are acceptable to everyone in the threesome.

Clinic Format

The clinics will consist of two one hour sessions. Each session consists of Viktor (playing whatever wall is necessary), and students.

Viktor spends a little time at the beginning of the session to determine if there are any particular aspects the players wish to focus on. The foursome then begins playing regular games, with Viktor commenting as necessary between points. He always has one or two hints for each player. And, usually summarizes his observations for each person at the end of the session.

He is an amazing talent, a treat to be on court with him, is very positive and a great deal of fun.

Fee Structure

We are confirming the new fee structure.

For 2010 Viktor has a new fee structure. For groups of 3, the fee is $50 per person per hour. Of this, $25 will be donated to Coastal Squash — Viktor is on the board, and this is a program dear to his heart. Each participant will receive a charitable tax receipt for their donation.

You get the best doubles entertainment in town, and, at the same time support a worthy cause — which uses Squash, combined with academic tutoring, to give participants ‟the opportunity to unleash their potential in academics, squash, and community service.”
