In-house doubles — Notes
Doubles court open for booking Monday & Tuesday at 9PM.
Couple of groups looking for a player to fill out the foursome. Please, contact players looking for spare, or one of the others in the foursome.
The summer appears to have finally arrived, and many are planning trips. So, if you plan on some fishing, getting away from it all, or, perhaps, heading to the Antarctic for a change of pace, please let Lynn Broman know if you wish your in-house doubles availability, profile, or preferences, to be adjusted. Player preferences, as used for this week's schedule, are available on-line.
If any groups decide not to play, please notifiy Adam Radziminski, or Rob Forrest so that the court may be freed for web booking.
If you are unable to make your match, you are responsible for arranging a replacement. Lynn doesn't mind giving a hand in the search; but, it is your responsibility.
In-house Doubles — Ladder
Lynn has begun using the Evergreen Doubles Ladder to give guidance in setting up the foursomes for in-house doubles.
Consequently, you are encouraged to record all your doubles activity on the club ladder. The more data, the more reliable the rankings.
In-house doubles — Want to join in?
Let Lynn Broman know if you wish to be included. Please, specify wall, and preferred days (Monday, Tuesday, and/or Thursday).
Doubles Tournaments — Coming Up
Nothing to mention at this time.
General Doubles — Notes
Vancouver Doubles Squash League
Season opens late September. Matches are Wednesdays 6 - 10pm.
Those who have already responded to a captain, or Tim Martin, you are done. If you wish to play but have not contacted Tim Martin, do so now. The club is submitting its application for this coming season.
Evergreen has applied for a new team. So far Gordon Bitney, Dave O'Brien, and Wolf Lachmann have indicated interest. Give Tim Martin a call if you wish to add your name for this team.
Evergreen Doubles Ladder
We have fairly detailed information about getting a password for the club ladder on Quick-Draws, and, thereafter, recording scores available on-line.
Evergreen Doubles Ladder is Back
The Doubles Ladder is now on-line, hosted on the Quick-Draws site. Like the singles ladder on the Gigasport site, players must log-in to record matches. No log-in is required to view the current state of the ladder.
All intra-club doubles matches are valid ladder matches — assuming all the players involved are on the ladder. And, to sweeten the pie, all ladder matches count toward the BC Doubles Rankings — assuming at least one player in each pair is a current Squash BC member, and already has a BC Doubles Ranking.
Lynn Broman and Rick Kochanski have put together a couple of web pages that pretty much tell you everything you need to know.
So check it out, if not already on the ladder, join, and start making your mark in the club doubles rankings!
